Alignment: Sithi are Light. Halflings tend to follow the codes of being an ‘Iniki’ or ‘the People’, which involves respecting Nature, animals and the land. One that live pear the peaks tend to have dark skin, whereas those nearest sea level are much paler.
Appearance: Halflings appear to be like Humans, but always around 5 foot or so - in fact they are mistaken for Humans quite often, and interbreeding is not unknown. You must be around 5 foot to play a Hallfling - no 6 foot Halfling please! Being aware of Nature, they tend to wear skins only from animals they have killed or raised, and need a lot of furs to keep warm - we suggest Native American or Inuit is a good look.
Regions: Iniki Halflings come from the White Mountains, though a few might come from living in cities in Thracia, Illyria and Macedonia. A debate is warring between those of the White Mountains and those few Halflings on the ground as to whether those that live on the ground are really ‘Iniki’ at all.
Society: Halflings are divided into Tribe, each tribe usually named after something familiar like a place or an animal. Each Tribe is lead by a Herdsman who looks after the running of the Tribe and a Huntress who trains the warriors and the hunters. To be an Iniki means to live in harmony with Nature where one can and to be aware of one’s ‘Chatoq’, one’s destiny. Being deeply spiritual, Halflings commonly say that they are aware of their own spirit-animal, which defines their character and behaviour. Each Tribe is guided by a Speaker, one who has read the Laws at the tops of Maker’s Peak and a Singing Man or Singing Woman, who act as tribal clergy - someone who has passed successfully into the Ways to speak to the gods.
Government: The overall race is guided by the Council of the Singers and by the Council of the Hunt, where each Herdsman and Hunter may openly speak in a form of parliament. They decide actions for the race as a whole, setting grazing rights and trade levels.
Religion: Halflings worship the Iniki gods - a few may well have converted to the Six, but these are rare.
Technology: Iniki Halflings are just now coming out of the Renaissance, afraid of what technology may bring. Halflings on the ground may be more adapted to the clockwork technology of the Humans and other races.
Names: Iniki names sound Inuit: Akna, Chitok, Babnek. Halflings in cities may well have more Human names.
